"From the moment Lorena walked through our door, we didn’t just know that we had made the right choice — we felt like we had won the lottery! She instantly made us feel supported, empowered, and at ease. And as first time parents to a newborn, those feelings could be fleeting — but we always looked forward to “Lorena nights”, because we knew that all of us (myself, my partner, our baby and even our grizzled old dog) would be rested, and in caring and capable hands. Lorena was our overnight doula for several weeks, working with us two to three nights a week from just a few days after our baby’s birth. On our first night with her, our baby was crying and within minutes of walking through the door, Lorena sang to her and calmed her. It was amazing to watch. She also quickly figured out how to help me breastfeed despite a latch that even my lactation consultants had assumed would remain difficult. On countless occasions I was so grateful for Lorena’s incredibly proactive (yet never intrusive) approach. She anticipated our needs with intuition and empathy, then set about problem-solving with calm, good judgement. She shared invaluable tips and checked in with us even when she wasn’t with us. She sang to our baby, massaged her, and bonded with her. We felt cared for, holistically and completely. Lorena’s grounding, calming energy, her abundant passion for her work, and her outstanding ability to care make her an exceptional doula. Thanks to her, what could have been a very stressful time became something that we could weather and even enjoy. Her presence turned what could have been a chaotic and exhausting time into one of calm, healing, and connection. I can’t recommend Lorena highly enough. And I know that if we have another baby, the first thing I do will be to check if Lorena can be there!”

“We are so grateful to have had Lorena as our day doula. Despite being doused with spit up and handling a massive blowout on day one, she eagerly cared for our baby as another parent. She dove right into every challenge, from researching the causes of the large spit ups to experimenting with wake windows, trying tummy massages, figuring out a new breast pump, and identifying burping cues. She even changed her hours to be with us during the witching hours rather than shy away from them. She also noticed my breast pain and not only suspected clogged ducts but went out of her way to message the IBCLC on my behalf for treatment. When things are overwhelming and the solution is to ask for help, which becomes yet another thing to do on your list, it is so relieving when someone asks for help on your behalf. I realize from Lorena's support that doulas provide care that you want but may not be able to get from a partner or parents because they are not trained for all the challenges that postpartum can bring, no matter how much they love you. I'm thankful that Lorena was not only my doula but also my advocate, teammate, therapist, and friend. Thank you!”

“We worked with Lorena for the first 2 weeks we got home from the hospital with our first born and had a great experience with her! She checked in with us right away when we signed the contract to schedule a nursery visit, and checked in regularly close to the due date. She came to work nights right when we got home from the hospital which allowed my husband and I to recover from an emergency c-section and 4 days in the hospital. Lorena is very kind and knowledgeable about infant care, feeding, and postpartum care. She provided resources to help with issues related to our baby, and was very open minded and flexible to different approaches. We enjoyed having her, and highly recommend her.”
